I want to make a post in the future telling in more detail about my meeting with Mr. Forrest, however until then I wanted to post, make sure you didn't think I was dead, and remind you to submit names. We have to spread the word--right now things are going slowly, but I'm hoping we can pick up some momentum, so submit a name and tell a friend--better yet, post about this on your favorite social networking site.

Now Taking Name Submissions!
It's our job to name Anthony Forrest's Sandtrooper, so here is how it will work. I will be accepting name submissions through Sunday, June 27th. I'll post later on how voting will be done to determine the winning name. To keep thing exact, I'll actually give people until 5:00 AM EST on Monday, June 28th, to get a name in, so people on the West Coast can still get some late responses in after midnight.
All valid submissions will be put available to vote on. A submission will be deemed invalid if it is silly, profane, or is already a known name. In other words, I'm not going to have people voting on the obvious joke ones--in general, I'm going to be pretty tolerant, but Bugaboo just won't make it to the polls. If it is a little silly sounding that is fine, I just plan on throwing out the ones that are obviously people just messing around.

It would be difficult to enforce a strict policy as far as number of submissions go, but please don't submit more than two or three. I don't want you to submit every idea that comes to you, but I also don't want to lose a good name because one was already submitted. Welcome!
Welcome to the official blog dedicated to naming the sandtrooper played by Anthony Forrest famous for saying "these aren't the droids we're looking for."
I met Mr. Forrest at the Motor City Comic Con 2010, and he proposed coming up with a name for his sandtrooper. It is with great enthusiasm that I take up this venture, and this blog is dedicated to that end. We need a name that is worthy of preservation in Star Wars lore, and so it is all of our task to come up with something that is fitting and memorable.
The ultimate goal is to make this name totally official, so consider your participation a historic endeavor that will live on as long as there are fans that dedicate themselves to the plentiful universe of Star Wars lore.
Details on how we'll go about doing this, and certainly an elaboration on my meeting with Mr. Forrest, are sure to come, so stay tuned, and spread the word.
